Former KZN cricket boss to take helm in EP

Eastern Province Cricket yesterday revealed Jesse Chellan as their new chief executive.

Chellan, 50 years old and a former Dolphins chief executive, takes up his post on Monday and will be formally introduced to the media later next week.

EP Cricket have been without a full-time chief executive since Dave Emslie resigned in July 2013.

Former Bermuda cricketer Saleem Mukuddem had been performing an acting role over the last two months, having taken over from interim boss Tono Mle.

“It is an honour and a privilege to be appointed to this position. I would like to thank the Board of EP Cricket for their confidence and trust.

“In particular I would like to thank Donovan May, Mark Williams and Haroon Lorgat,” Chellan said yesterday.
