Popular half marathon moves to St Dominic's

SATURDAY'S running of the 39th Heartbreak Hill Half Marathon, organised by the Charlo Athletic Club, has a new venue this year.

Previously known as the Master's Half Marathon, the race will start and end at the St Dominic's Priory School.

Although entries at all the major sports shops in the metro close at 5pm tomorrow, late entries will be accepted at the school on Friday evening between 5pm and 7pm and on Saturday morning up to 15 minutes before the race which, starts at 6.30am. The fun run starts at 7am.

The school with the most entries (minimum 25) will receive a R1500 cash prize.

Medals will be awarded to the first 600 finishers in the 21.1km half marathon and the first 400 finishers in the 5km fun run. Cash prizes will be awarded to category winners and there will be a lucky draw.

Entry fee for the 21.1km run is R45 and R25 for the 5km run. A temporary licence fee of R25 applies for the half marathon only.
