No self-promotion

THE Herald is looking for inspiring stories on those helping the community ("Help us spread inspiration", January 27).

My theory is a true giver does not tell people what he/she does, they do it for the right reasons, as it should come from the heart, not to feed their egos or for publicity reasons.

There is nothing worse than when someone tells you what wonderful things he or she has done. I then question his or her motives. A true giver does not need accolades.
