If Zuma falls‚ it's not enough - corruption must go‚ says Judge Yacoob

Judge Zac Yacoob told the #SaveSouthAfrica assembly that the country needs to deal with corruption as a whole‚ not focus its campaign against one person. He said it would not be enough to try to topple President Jacob Zuma. “It won’t mean end of corruption.” Speaking of the president‚ Yacoob said: “If he resigns tomorrow we would have won a small victory. His resignation is only our first objective. “After Zuma resigns‚ we must clean out the ANC‚ get rid of all the dirty-handed people.” Yacoob also charged: “If I were to say Zuma’s hands are clean‚ he’d be the first one to laugh at me.” Saying “all dirty hands off Pravin Gordhan”‚ he joined the assembly of leaders including ANC stalwarts gathered in Pretoria to protest against so-called state capture. The ANC is not the party it used to be‚ he said. Yacoob asserted: “Our President is not alone. If the National Working Committee or National Executive Committee said he must resign today‚ he would have to.” Judge Yacoob is an anti-apartheid activist and a former Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa. He was appointed to the bench in 1998 by former president Nelson Mandela. Reactions to the judge’s speech: https://twitter.com/Dariomilo/status/793724699255635968
