Callies racking up the goals

WITH 19 goals in their last three matches, Callies are flexing their muscles in the Pefa Premier League and look set to put last season's dismal season performance behind them.

The Londt Park outfit thrashed Warriors 7-2 to advance to within four points of the log-leaders.

Callies led 3-1 at half time with a Cleavon Draai netting a brace and Kurt Petersen adding the third. In the second half Nkosinathi Ndamane, Chad Schimper and Des Booysen (2) completed the rout.

Meanwhile, on Friday evening, Hearts maintained their unbeaten run with a 2-1 win over Central Acemates and temporarily shot to the top of the log.

A penalty by Mark Upton when Dino Zenios was fouled in the area saw Hearts leading 1-0 at half time. Acemates pulled a goal back by Simpiwe Kakaza after Hearts failed to clear a free kick. Late in the match, leading Hearts goal-scorer Robert Yuill netted the winner.

On Saturday Vodacom NMMU Madibaz also retained their unbeaten run with a 3-1 win over PE Homerovers at Kemsley Park to regain their position at the top of the log on goal difference.
