Pearson enjoyed a good day against Westering in their annual cricket fixtures on Saturday. All four Pearson teams were in control for most of their matches and recorded convincing results.

In the 50-over first team match played at Pearson, the hosts won the toss and asked Westering to bat. The visiting batsmen scored at a brisk rate from the outset, but kept losing wickets due to some good bowling.

Westering were eventually all out for a mere 108 in only 20 overs. Kyle Jacobs picket up 3/3 and Josh Dodd 2/28.

Pearson made a solid start in their innings as Dodd and Jacobs put on 39 for the first wicket. Westering fought back to pick up the wickets of the openers but Jarod Froneman (24 not out) and Mark Zonneveld, with a quick-fire 42 not out off 27 balls, saw Pearson cruise home by eight wickets in the 22nd over.
