THE Kabeljous Park will be painted pink during the Pink Wag ‘n Walk later this month.

The inaugural Pink Wag ‘n Walk is a fun walk that is being organised by Curves, in aid of Pink Drive which raises awareness of breast cancer, during Breast Cancer Month.

The 5km walk will start and end at the Kabeljous Park on 27 October. One of the organisers, Chezanne Todd said what makes the fundraiser different is that furry four-legged friends get to share in the fun.

"Residents are encouraged to wear pink and come to support the event.

"Man and man’s best friend will get some exercise and get to mingle with other participants ,” she said.

The money raised during the event will go towards the Pink Drive, to keep a mobile mammography unit on the road.

All entry fees from dogs will be donated to the Humansdorp SPCA.

The Pink Drive campaign is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education and, and providing and offering services to women across South Africa, particularly to those who do not have access to information on breast health.

The event will start with late registrations at 8.30am.

The walk will start at 9.30 am, with the event continuing till noon.

Entries cost R45 per person and R15 a dog.

Children under 12 can walk for free

Completed entries can be dropped off at Curves or Cape Cross Vets during office hours.
