CALLIES will again be hosting the annual Umbro Vets soccer tournament from today to Sunday.
The tournament was previously played in George but after the success of last year's event, organisers decided to return to the Callies field.
"Callies is a club with a rich football history and the turnout at last year's tournament was excellent. We have no hesitation in returning to the city," Dale Wrede of organisers SA Sports Tours said.
Last year's winners, Evergreen from Cape Town, and runners-up Boksburg will be back in action.
Hosts Callies are expected to put up a far better showing this year after fielding a scratch team last year. – Mogan Segadavan
