Hotspurs to play Stardrift as Glenville face up to Saints

AFTER being knocked out of the prestigious Mala Moodaley KO Cup competition by tailenders Fairview Rovers last week, Hotspurs will have to set their sights on the Nafa Premier League title for the rest of the season.

The log-leaders play struggling Stardrift at their stronghold, the Dyke, tomorrow.

Rovers, who surprisingly are at the bottom of the log, play Fairdene at Finnis 1. After a blistering debut in the Premier League, Fairdene seem to be running out of legs and are tied in fourth place.

Defending champions Glenville, who trail Hotspurs by two points, play Saints at the Errol Heynes field. Saints are having a poor run of form and are three places away from the bottom of the log.

Blackpool, who seem to be picking up steam after a poor start to the season, have a difficult game against Westlake at the Marock Road field. Although Westlake are seventh, they trail Blackpool by only three points.

Blackpool scored the biggest win of the first round in the KO Cup competition when they thrashed Shatterprufe 8-0.

Bloom Callies, heading the threeway tie on goal difference for fourth place, play Chatty at Finnis 2.

HEARTS could become outright logleaders in the Pefa Premier League this evening, even if it just for a day, when they host Central Acemates at their fortress, The Valley (Lawson Brown High field).

Hearts are tied with Vodacom NMMU Madibaz on points but trail the students on goal difference.

They will not find Acemates easy to beat, especially after their dramatic comeback against Callies in their last match.

Acemates were 0-3 down with 15 minutes remaining but scored twice, almost snatching a share of the points.

Tomorrow Madibaz take on PE Home Rovers at Kemsley Park. After six matches, Rovers have just one point.

The match of the weekend should the clash between Callies and Warriors at the Diaz Club on Sunday.

Warriors are second on the log, three points ahead of Callies, who are at full strength following the return of their SAB League players.
