CALLIES suffered their worst defeat in years when they were hammered 6-0 by Vodacom NMMU Madibaz in a Pefa Premier League match played at the south campus on Friday evening.

The students led 1-0 at half time after Kurt Duff converted a penalty.

The floodgates opened in the second half as the students scored five goals without reply.

Onela Beqezi, Vuyolwethu Marele, Alexander Owusu, Claudius Sagandira and substitute Bulelani Putuzo completed the rout.

Hearts, who are tied with Madibaz at the top of the log, scraped home to a 1-0 win over PE Homerovers when Oyama Zambodla netted a goal in the dying minutes of the match.

Forresters, who won 7-0 in their opening match, went on another goal-scoring spree, thrashing NMB Municipality 9-0. Goals by Ayanda Mthethwa, Nkosinaye Tekko Gadlela, Vuyolwethu Ndika, Lwam Nqweniso and Mancam Sbusisi saw Forresters leading 5-0 at half time.

Mthethwa and Gadlela scored a brace each in the second half.

In another high-scoring match Warriors thumped KwaDwesi All Stars 6-2. Bukhuthele Nqupe scored a hat-trick for the Nafa Easter tournament runners-up. Wayne Gilbert and Eshwin Johnson (2) did the rest.
