MORE than 100 corporate teams are expected to descend on the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium for the opening race of the Investec Night Relay Series on May 15.

The event is being hosted by Access Management at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, where teams will enjoy the luxury of the World of Windows VIP Lounge for their race registration and post-race entertainment and prize-giving.

To be held on one Thursday evening in May, June, July and August, the Series will see teams of five runners or three walkers from companies, schools and other institutions do battle around the stadium and North End Lake precinct.

"The Investec Night Relay is back for the third year running and we are delighted to be sponsoring this series again," Investec Specialist Bank regional head Cumesh Moodliar said. "The first race is on May 15 and while this offers a fun corporate challenge, the series is also a challenge on urban renewal. Not only can corporate teams have fun but they can also play a role in supporting a local charity."

The Night Relay gives companies the ideal team- building opportunity for their staff and clients in a fun setting. They not only take part and stand a chance to win some lucky-draw prizes, including R1000 cash, but also socialise around good food and drink and live music.

The series will see the team members each completing a 5km lap in relay format along a flat course offering an easily achievable distance for the walkers and runners.

Champions Gamble Pharmacy will be back for the third year to defend their title and course record which stands at one hour, seven minutes and 33 seconds, which they set in 2012.
