SIMON Moss, son of legendary racer Terry Moss, is moving up in the racing world. The 22-year-old from Port Elizabeth is to race this year in the Bridgestone Production Car season.

Round one kicks off tomorrow in the national Super Series at Zwartkops and Moss will be behind the wheel of his Audi S4 quattro. A baptism of fire is expected.

He faces a steep learning curve in this formula, but has proved he can keep up when the pace gets hot and can draw from both local and international experience in karts, single-seaters and the Engen Volkswagen Cup which he contested last year. "The Bridgestone Production Car championship is going to be a big challenge," says Moss. "Good drivers, fast cars and very close racing is going to make for a steep learning curve. I'm ready for the tough season ahead, buthaving a teammate like Michael Stephen is going to make that a great deal easier."

Stephen will be piloting one of two Engen Xtreme Audi S4 quattros, the other will be under the control of teammate Moss.
