Despatch totalled 436/6 in their innings, with Vernaed Wildeman slamming 137 and Sheldon Meiring hitting 122.

There was another fine knock by Luanu du Toit, who contributed an unbeaten 65. Uitenhage could make only 14 in reply.

SAC v Selborne

St Andrew's showed fine batting and bowling form to outclass Selborne by 116 runs in Grahamstown at the weekend.

Batting first after winning the toss on a belter of a pitch, opener Nicholas Embling (37 off 28 deliveries) was severe on any loose deliveries, giving the innings a flying start of 54/0 after eight overs.

Selborne then struck twice, dismissing both openers, but Gordon Everard (74 off 80 balls) and Brendan Owen (56 from 81 deliveries) continued the momentum with a fine 127-run partnership.

Andrew Mills (55 not out) and Benjamin Dovey (43) paced the innings beautifully, allowing the home side to declare on 296/5 before lunch and to pick up an early Selborne wicket.

St Andrew's were able to set attacking fields for most of the innings, but Selborne fought hard until the 118th over of the day.

With six overs left, St Andrew's finished off the innings for 180 when Embling took a catch at short leg off Brendan Owen.

Grant Dixie bowled with good pace, claiming 3/41, and was well supported by Steven Green and Simon Taylor, who also took three wickets each.
