A CASUAL drive down the N2 reveals a less rosy picture than that of Friday's Herald article ("Mall's environmental efforts pay off as moved plants thrive").

The photo taken of the cyclopia conveniently excludes all the Port Jackson (or rooikrans) nearer to the N2 and elsewhere in the protected fenced-off area. Yes, the cyclopia are thriving, it is fynbos and reacted favourably to the fire, one of many occurring in the area as the developers moved on site.

The situation is not so good in the similarly fenced area diagonally across the N2 where the Baywest access road cuts across the natural drainage towards the cyclopia that grew there and it is a plant that needs water. This area also has aliens that have not been attended to.

Is there reason to believe anything that was printed in the glowing article? To Baywest, now remove those Port Jackson.

In my book you are the hooligans of the day.
