AS I was driving along the R75 road from Port Elizabeth to Uitenhage on Wednesday, in the fast lane, after I passed Missionvale and the Zwide intersection near Dora Nginza Hospital, I heard a siren. When I looked back I saw it was an ambulance.

When I wanted to give way to it on my left there was a tow vehicle forcing its way through, also rushing to the same scene as the ambulance. Then I had a chance to give way to the ambulance and this tow vehicle drove in front of the ambulance for a while before the ambulance got an opportunity to pass this particular vehicle.

My concern is: why do these guys not give an ambulance priority for the sake of human lives?
