Today we are talking about a suggestion that 'soft' criminals be used to work in the metro:

Michelle Bailey: Better plan: use hard core convicted criminals and schedule each to contribute at least five (or something) hours a day on a spinning bike connected to a grid to generate electricity. If all prisoners did their community service this way imagine the load off Eskom.

Ntsika Siyasanga: TetaniMy question is if they will still have this job once they are released or are they only good enough when they are not getting paid for it? Either way I feel that cleaning is not a way to rehabilitate. It's unpaid labour and tantamount to slavery.

Neil Roland Smith: Use the homeless instead. That's what they do in Russia.
