A naked man was found dead inside his Motherwell house yesterday morning.
The 30-year-old’s identity is being withheld until his next of kin have been informed.
Police said he was found lying on his bed by a friend who had gone to visit him at about 9.30am in Myeka Street.
While details remain unknown, detectives suspect the man was assaulted.
Police spokesman Constable Mncedi Mbombo said the man was naked with only a shirt placed over his upper body.
“It is alleged that the deceased was last seen [on Tuesday night], drinking with his friends and his girlfriend inside the house,” he said.
“The mother of the deceased came to the house and complained about the noise.
“She then allegedly hit the girlfriend with a stick and told them all to leave the house,” Mbombo said.
