TWO men were arrested yesterday after an Engen petrol station QuickShop in Port Elizabeth was robbed.

Atlas Security said only the cashier was in the 24-hour shop in Allister Miller Road at about 5.30am when two men, one with a knife and the other with a gun, entered.

They threatened the cashier before making off with R1 000, after which the cashier pressed a panic button.

An Atlas Security team responded, gave chase and caught two men, one with a knife, alongside the nearby railway line. The money and gun were not found. Police spokesman Captain Johan Rheeder said the men would appear in court tomorrow.
