AFTER several snags due to the incompetence of the state, a prominent Port Elizabeth businessman, who hit and killed a school pupil while allegedly driving drunk in 2010, will finally stand trial.

The revelation for Lois Grobbelaar, the dead boy's mother, is almost too much to bear.

She said she would not attend the trial, which is due to resume in October.
