THREE men suspected of murdering an elderly woman inside her retirement home cottage in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth, earlier this year have still not been arrested.

Hazel Huggins, 85, was suffocated in a botched robbery at Kruger Gardens in March. Her body was found on the floor after she had failed to arrive at a meeting point for an outing to Bushmans River.

Police were still waiting on forensic results, spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said yesterday.

"The evidence gathered on the scene has been sent to the lab, and we are still awaiting the results," she said.

"We cannot give a time on when these results can be expected back, but detectives are working with the lab to try to get them as soon as possible."

Janse van Rensburg would not say more due to the sensitive nature of the case.

Police have also sent CCTV footage of the suspects to specialist investigators to enhance the images. – Gareth Wilson
