A NEW Brighton policeman has been recognised as an everyday hero by women from the White Door Centre – a support centre for abused victims – for being a caring and a dedicated police officer.
Warrant officer Mzoxolo Tobani, 49, who was honoured on May 22, said he was excited about the recognition.
"I have been a police officer for 26 years at New Brighton police station," he said.
"As a community police official [CPF], I assist the centre and plan with them for their programmes.
"As a result, they have been recognised by the Department of Social Development as a productive victims' care centre.
"For me, helping the centre is my way of ploughing back to the community," Tobani said. - Yoliswa Sobuwa
