TWO Port Elizabeth doctors at the centre of sexual assault and defeating the ends of justice charges have a case to answer, a court found yesterday

It is now expected that Dr Nasiev Syed, 49, of Malabar, and Dr Mohammed Bhatti, 54, of Glendinningvale, will take to the stand when their case resumes tomorrow. Their defence team brought an application on Tuesday for the acquittal of the two doctors, citing insufficient evidence.

But Port Elizabeth Regional Court magistrate Peter Campbell found that Syed had a case to answer on two counts of rape and sexually assaulting a patient. - Hendrick Mphande
