DOCTORS at a Livingstone Hospital's special unit are seeing an unprecedented wave of patients with end-stage kidney disease.

Unit head Dr Rob Freercks has warned that all the patients cannot be accommodated "due to the colliding epidemics of diabetes, high blood pressure and HIV".

"All three diseases are extremely prevalent in our country," Freercks said following International Kidney Day last week. -
