High election registration fees anger smaller parties

SMALL political parties have hit out at the fees they have to cough up to contest the elections nationally and provincially.
They said yesterday the aim of the high fees was to exclude them from taking part in democracy.
Port Elizabeth-born Dagga Party leader Jeremy Acton said the fees that had to be paid to the Independent Electoral Commission before parties could participate were "daylight robbery". -
