A FIVE-year-old Port Elizabeth boy is in a serious condition in Livingstone Hospital's intensive care unit after he was shot in the face on Saturday night while walking to his bedroom in his Arcadia home.

The bullet is lodged in his neck and will be surgically removed today. Neilon Peters was the unintended victim of a planned hit on his cousin, Rodwin Peters, 20, who lives in the same house in Jenniker Street. Rodwin was not at home at the time.

This is the third case in just three months where children have been caught in the crossfire of the northern areas gang warfare.
