NELSON Mandela Bay schools are already accepting applications for next year in the primary and high school entry grades, with requests for admission trickling in steadily.

School principals are gearing up to host prospective pupils and their parents on open days when they sell the school and highlight what there is to offer, while others have already received applications for attendance in 2017 and onwards.

With scores of pupils struggling to find places in schools at the beginning of each year, especially in grades R, 1 and 8, schools opt to open the admission process earlier for these grades in order to wrap up interviews at least half-way into the year.
