Wavecrest to get cleaner water

AFTER years of having to put up contending

with dirty

tap watercoming from their taps, Wavecrest residents say they have have noticed an improvement in the water quality.
This comes after MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs Mlibo Qoboshiyane stepped in after he had read about it

"On Monday

February 25 we noticed a dramatic improvement in the water quality. I understand that the municipality is carrying out major maintenance on the water purification infrastructure.
"In an e-mailed response he [Qoboshiyane] said he escalated the matter after I informed him about it,” said Mullin.
Since 2003 Wavecrest residents have been complaining about the quality of their water.
The water was undrinkable, forcing residents to buy bottled water.

Kouga Municipal spokesman Mfundo Sobele said: "I am sure other residents of Wavecrest are extremely grateful

for cleaner water after so many years.”
"On behalf of all Wavecrest residents we want to thank the MEC,” said Mullin.
