THE Food Shed celebrates its third birthday next month, bringing the Sherwood Garden Centre to life.

This community-based project hosts at least 60 different vendors with a variety of delicious food stalls and fun-filled activities. The place creates a cosy atmosphere for adults while keeping kids occupied.

The Food Shed, which takes place on the first Friday evening of each month, offers traders a platform to exhibit their products and earn an additional (sometimes only) income.

Charities are offered free stalls to raise money for their causes.

Fires and lanterns are lit in the evening and you can look forward to just chilling out, listening to the live entertainment, grabbing a bite to eat, spending time with friends and family and enjoying the vibe in the beautiful gardens of the Sherwood Garden nursery.

"Lots of love, time and dedication have gone into this venture and the four partners have enjoyed every minute of hard work which shows in the success of The Food Shed," organiser Liesel Oosthuizen said.

"If you haven't yet ventured out, you don't know what you've been missing."

The Food Shed is hosted at the Sherwood Garden Centre in Walker Drive, Sherwood between 5pm and 9.30pm.

The entrance fee is R20 for anyone over the age of seven and there is also a family pack special for R50 which allows entry to a family of four.
