AN elderly couple was robbed and the male victim assaulted at their Settlers Park home on Saturday night, the robbers escaping with about R40 000 worth of goods.The robbery took place at around 10.10pm while the couple was watching television.
Two armed burglars managed to enter through the kitchen door that was closed but unlocked, and held up the couple at gunpoint. The robbers allegedly wanted to tie them up but when the male victim objected he was hit with the gun on his knee.
The thieves then helped themselves to a substantial amount of foreign currency along with a Dell laptop, two Apple I-pads, an Apple tablet, a mid-tablet, a Nokia cell phone and a Sony digital camera.
No arrests have yet been made.
