LIFE LYNE, a band which found its roots in the Bethelsdorp Seventh-day Adventist Church, is now exposing gospel to a new audience. The band, started by Westring residents, and brother, Stanley and Eon le Roux were recently

chosen as part of the top 10 for the Kingfisher FM Do You Rock competition after submitting their song and managed to scoop the title last month.

Group member Eon said performing was what they had always wanted to do and this had given them the platform to go further.

"We have always been a musically inclined group of people. And now that we have won this competition things are moving forward. We won a four-track recording deal with Radio Active Productions and a music video with Rooftop Productions.

"We also received a website, photo- shoot and airtime on One Gospel channel," Eon said.

Once the competition was completed, Life Lyne discovered they had impressed the judges so much that Radio Active decided to sign the group to its label.

Stanley said next year would be when things really started to happen.

"This year we are mainly just prepping for next year. In 2013 a few of the songs will be released. And thanks to awesome production teams I have no doubt that they will be both good and entertaining," Stanley said.

"We have bumped up our training and recording time to accommodate the new demands.

"We are excited and anxious because this is a new environment which we are adapting to and the future is looking bright. So we will continue to put our best foot forward and keep our listeners close to the radio."

The group will perform a few holiday shows over the festive season and give fans a taste of what to expect from their new and improved sound.

After having laid a solid foundation for stardom the ambitious group feel they are now ready for future challenges.
