HOLIDAY FUN GUIDE: Chief Ngqoko’s Place offers leisure township style

CHIEF Ngqoko’s Place, in a little cul-de-sac in New Brighton, attracts some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. The tavern has received a much-needed facelift turning it into one of the hottest taverns in the location. It is the place to be this summer. Going inside the Kwa Ngqoko, as it is known, there is the general area with orange leather couches and a top of the range bar. There is a VIP corner with grey leather couches that go along with the round glass table.

The smoking area is decorated in red and white which gives you the view of the location. “If you want that town feeling but don’t want go to town then Kwa Ngqoko is the right place for you. We offer top-of-the-range entertainment. The security is very tight because we have CCTV cameras. “There are also car guards to look after the patron’s cars,” one of the managers Mandla Hini said. On Wednesday there is an opening of the summer season with the best local DJs. No under 18s are allowed and the dress code is smart casual.
