NELSON Mandela Bay visual artists have a strong presence in Port Elizabeth ahead of and as part of the National Arts Festival, with another exhibition due to open today.

  • 95 Mandela Poster Project – an international travelling exhibition of graphic design posters marking Mandela's 95 years – opens at 5.30pm this evening at the Athenaeum Gallery in Belmont Terrace. The MBDA and Athenaeum are presenting this exhibition which is open until July 20.

  • Paragons of the Divine Virgule, a workshop and exhibition of potential practice on paper, opened last week at artEC in Bird Street. It is open until June 27.

  • The annual Epsac exhibition will replace Paragons from July 1 and runs over the duration of the festival.

  • Xpressions 2014,  a selected biannual exhibition of 36 leading Eastern Cape artists, opens at ART Gallery on Friday June 27 and extends until July 19.

  • NMM Art Museum has three exhibitions as part of the festival, as well as a public talk on Saturday June 28 on the Handspring Puppet Company and the making of Warhorse. The talk will be presented in Grahamstown next month.

  • GFI Gallery (previously Ron Belling) has Duncan Stewart's City Illuminated on show until July 18.

  • Dessies at the Tin House will host a No Name Same Size exhibition from Thursday June 26 to July 31.
