Letter: Downs keep a winning squad

WHEN Kaizer Chiefs lost the game against Sundowns, I told myself and my friends that Sundowns were the champions as they would be cruising with the few games left to play. Wits made it worse when they drew 2-2 with Black Aces.

I must admit that Pitso Mosimane had one of the best squads and the players are very talented. They showed a lot of dedication and commitment to win all the games.

One of the secrets of Sundowns’s success was the fact that Mosimane kept on fielding the same winning combination whether they were tired or not.

He had exactly the same approach as Stuart Baxter had with Amakhosi.

I suggest Amakhosi and Pirates should go back to the drawing board, especially Amakhosi, or get fresh legs as our players are now over the hill. They need to get early retirement and we need young blood.

I was also convinced that the lifespan of strikers is only five years and after that their legs will not be able to carry them.
