PE SAPS humiliated Park 66-10 in a one-sided President's Cup game at Kemsley Park at the weekend.

The home outfit went into the Group A game high in confidence after consecutive victories in their last games and made their intentions known early in the game.

But Park, who were eager not to suffer yet another heavy defeat, managed to keep the hosts at bay and limited the score to 19-5 in favour of police going to the break.

However, the second half was a different story as the floodgates opened and Park could not keep up with the service men's onslaught.

In a more balanced game at the Adcock Stadium, Progress narrowly edged Harlequins 22-17.

The repeat of the 2012 Eastern Cape Super 12 final started off with neither side refusing to budge as the bragging rights and the points were at stake.

Quins, who started their campaign in Group A on a high before their second game was called off because of a fight while they were leading, wanted to give the Uitenhage side a taste of their own medicine for beating them in the first round of the EP Grand Challenge.

Scores were tied at 5-5 after 40 minutes. Play opened up in the second stanza with both sides taking their chances, but it was the visitors who claimed the hard-fought victory.

At the Grahamstown Oval, Kruisfontein beat the Brumbies 28-17.

The Group B clash lived up to expectations as both sides threw everything at one another, but it was the visitors who led 18-10 at half time.

Both sides played good running rugby, but the Humansdorp outfit wanted it more and scored a further 10 points while the Brumbies only managed a converted try.

The Group B game between Gardens and Caltex Crusaders was cancelled. In Group A, African Bombers withdrew from the Cup, resulting in their game against Gap Despatch not taking place. - Mkhululi Ndamase
