Fairdene beaten in season shock

SHAMROCKS provided one of the shocks of the season in the Nafa Premier League when they beat high-riding Fairdene 2-1.

It was the second successive defeat for the newly promoted outfit, who were toppled from the top of the log last week, when they were beaten 2-0 by lowly Fairview Rovers.

With Glenville not in action at the weekend, Bloom Callies returned to the top of the log with a 1-0 win over Booysens Pride.

Blackpool's hopes of closing in on the log-leaders suffered a setback when they drew 1-1 with Saints. After a string of three wins this was Saints' second successive draw.

It was sweet revenge for Rovers when they beat Hotspurs 2-1. Rovers beat the Spurs in the preliminary round of the Mala Moodaley KO Cup competition but were booted out on a technicality.

However, Spurs were knocked out in the next round. Since then they have gone eight matches without a win.

Park United failed to reproduce last week's form when they thumped Ebenezer 4-0 and drew 0-0 with Stardrift.

Westlake scored an easy 3-1 win over tailenders Chatty United.
