Letter: Speed bumps a little too late

WE have been asking for speed bumps in Algoa Park for many years and even the ward councillor couldn’t get the municipality to do anything, because of budget constraints (or so the municipality says).

A few months ago a child was knocked down in Dyke Road and the residents of Algoa Park drew up a petition – I am sure there were thousands of signatures.

It is just very sad that it took this long and that a child had to die for the municipality to do something. I want to say thank you to the municipality for at last doing something in our area.

I hope that after this coming election the new ruling party will do what the current party cannot do, and that is to run an efficient municipality.
