Deploy military to sort gangs

ARE we at war? The last time I checked nobody was breaching our borders.

The gang violence and killings in the northern areas must be stopped. The military must be deployed. Why can't it be done?

President Jacob Zuma can override the red tape and make this possible. The problem is do they really care enough to even bother?

Our people are living in fear and the government must step in. The police have too much area to cover with too little manpower for them to be effective in combating this scourge.

This problem is not being addressed as a priority.

Bring in the military. They can patrol the hotspots at night. Their presence will at least make most people sleep better and it will give them some hope that the authorities care about their safety.

We deserve to be safe in our suburbs and in our homes. This is the responsibility of the government.

How dare they expect us to vote for them if they don't consider our plight to be a desperate one?

We are all citizens of this country and we deserve the right to walk in our streets without fear.

People are dying and innocent bystanders are becoming victims of a war that they have nothing to do with. It's shameful.
