Bay not up to scratch

MY daughter was on holiday from the UK. She flew in via Cape Town where she spent a few days.
She was "blown away" by this "first world" city where everything works.
She said Cape Town was on a par with any European big city.
She came to her home town and was so disappointed with what she saw. I was embarrassed and found myself making excuses.
It hurts because my heart is in this city.
If only we could have Cape Town run us too.
