Salute to Smith's service as captain

WHEN someone mentions Graeme Smith's name, you quickly pay attention and cannot mention the Protea name without mentioning his.
He is one of the greatest captains this country ever produced and I cannot hide the fact that he is one of my favourite captains.
His leadership on and off the field has made him one of the most respected captains in the cricket fraternity. He took over the captaincy at the tender age of 21. He was thrown at the deep end but his talent helped turn us into the No 1 cricket playing nation in the world.
He matured very early in playing cricket and he is bowing out at the right time with dignity.
