It's like voting for mystery candidates

'TIS the political silly season again with much smoke and mirrors on offer from all concerned.

What troubles me as a voter is our lack of knowledge about the candidates themselves.

Candidates on all levels of government should be informing the voters who they are and where they come from by way of detailed CVs.

Our local newspapers from time to time have articles about, "Know your councillor," but as these are basically written by the particular councillor themselves, their content is probably mostly subjective and a public relations exercise at the same time.

Mostly they don't give details of their personal background for us to make informed choices when voting.
