Three men – aged between 27 and 45 – are expected to appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate’s Court this week after they were nabbed with rhino horn in their possession.

The arrest forms part of Operation Full Moon, which focuses on curbing rhino poaching in the Eastern Cape.

The men were arrested this afternoon in Grahamstown.

“At this stage we cannot confirm if the suspects could be linked to rhino poaching incidents in the area,” said provincial spokeswoman Colonel Sibongile Soci.

For now the men face a charge of illegal possession of rhino horn.
