Protesting Rholihlahla residents vow not to vote in municipal elections

Residents of Rholihlahla in Port Elizabeth have vowed that they will not vote in the municipal elections taking place in August until their service delivery grievances are attended to by the municipality.

Protesting residents closed the Old Uitenhage Road early this morning, using stones and tyres to block the road.

They are unhappy with the housing situation in the area and allege that their houses have cracked walls, no ceilings and the paint on the walls is peeling off.

Residents have vowed to continue with protests in the area until something is done to rectify their houses. Read more in The Herald tomorrow.
