Suspected hijackers arrested after early morning car chase

TWO suspected hijackers were arrested after an early morning car chase on the N2, only hours after they hijacked the car in Uitenhage.

The TSI polo was hijacked in Ntswahlana Street, KwaNobuhle, at 11pm on Tuesday (17/05/16). Two men with guns confronted the driver when he arrived at home and took his car.

The men are believed to be part of the syndicate who are targeting VW employees that drive company leased vehicles.

Police spokeswoman Lieutenant Gerda Swart  said: “At this stage detectives are investigating all avenues and linking them to a larger group will form part of the investigation.”
