Second body found in Sundays River

The body of the second swimmer who drowned in the Sundays River on Tuesday was recovered by authorities this afternoon.

Metro emergency medical services together with police divers and search and rescue teams have been combing the river banks since Tuesday.  According to authorities, a boat assisting with the search found the 22-year-old's body this afternoon in the shrubs along the river bank about 4.5 km from where the drowning happened.

The two men, aged 20 and 22, were part of a group of 11 enjoying an outing at the popular river venue near Cannonville.  The tragedy occurred at about 2pm after four of the men decided to have a swim in the river.
