Rap star Minaj set to cause a stir at tourism spots

START the countdown. It’s exactly 10 days until South Africa welcomes Nicki Minaj.

The American rapper will be in the country for her Pink Print Tour which begins in Johannesburg on March 17 and 18 before moving to Durban on March 20 and Cape Town on March 22.

But for those who did not get tickets to her show, hopes of seeing the Anaconda rapper are not all lost.

While her schedule is tight and promoters have indicated she will not have much free time, there are some mandatory sight-seeing destinations on her itinerary.

Since Johannesburg is her first stop, the sultry rapper is expected to visit Soweto.

Airey Scott Entertainment executive David Airey said Minaj was excited about coming to the country and it was highly likely that fans could request a selfie with her.

KwaZulu-Natal’s game reserves and Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain and Robben Island are also said to be on her itinerary. But the challenge will be getting past her 30-person entourage, including her personal assistant, hair stylist, makeup artist, wardrobe assistant, band members and dancers.

Minaj is renowned for her sex appeal, making her a walking thirst trap who regularly causes a stir when she posts pictures on social media.

Airey said fans could expect to hear her most popular hits, but should be prepared for surprises on stage.
