Police constable killed in Motherwell

A police constable from Port Elizabeth was shot and killed in front of her home in Motherwell this morning.

According to police,  Constable Nomathamsanqa Ivy Tsitsi,  36, arrived home shortly after 6am after working the night shift.

As she approached the driveway, an unknown man approached and fired several shots into her vehicle.

She  sustained a serious head wound in the process.

Tsitsi lost control of the vehicle, which came to a standstill at her next door neighbour’s fence. She died at the scene.

A murder case has been opened at Motherwell police station, and police are urging any witnesses or persons with information to contact Lieutenant Colonel Jackie Grobler at 082-065-9785 or the Motherwell Crime Office at (041) 407- 6471.
