Ex-Miss PE returns to her roots

Valene Sampson uses modelling experience to nurture Bay talent

FORMER Miss Port Elizabeth Valene Sampson is making good on a promise she made during her reign 10 years ago by moving back to her home city to open a modelling agency.

The 2005 winner had been living in Cape Town and Johannesburg following a blossoming modelling career that saw her become the face of Charlie beauty and cosmetics products in sub-Saharan countries as well as the face of the ethnic hair care campaign, Le Sell hair care, and their product line, Trendsetter.

Her face had been plastered on billboards around the continent and she could be seen on television ads for various companies, but now at the age of 29 she has opted to give up the glitz and glamour and spend her time behind the camera.
