Eastern Cape side looking for redemption against Lions

THE Chevrolet Warriors will be looking to bounce back from defeat when they host the Highveld Lions in a Sunfoil Series clash in East London starting today.

The Eastern Cape franchise crashed to an emphatic 10-wicket loss against the Titans in Port Elizabeth at the week.

“We definitely want to bounce back and redeem ourselves in this game,” Warriors coach Malibongwe Maketa said.

“We didn’t execute our skills as well as we have been doing – a disappointment for us. We want to make sure we rectify those errors in this match.”

With four matches to go in the competition, the Warriors, now fifth on the table, will know they are still in with a shout for the title if they can win their remaining matches and hope other results go their way.

“We are not focusing on the trophy. We are just making sure we do the best we can. The rest will take care of itself,” Maketa said.
