Superschools reaps rewards

PORT Elizabeth schools continue to benefit through a supermarket loyalty programme.

A group of schools – Alexander Road High School, Brylin Independent Learning Centre (ILC), Newton Park Primary School, Lawson Brown High, Newton Park Pre-Primary, Herbert Hurd Primary, Erica Girls Primary, Linkside Pre-Primary, Linkside High and Parsons Hill Primary all benefited from the initiative – received more than R25000 in vouchers and hampers as part of the Newton Park SuperSpar Superschool rewards programme last month.

The Newton Park Superschool ground team were welcome by "smiley faces and grateful teachers" at the quarterly hand over. Teachers and parents earn points for schools when they buy at the Newton Park store, which are then used for vouchers and hampers for the schools.

The schools then use these at school functions, and for their own community projects.  - Chanice Koopman
