Budget for Splash Festival slashed

THE Splash Festival budget has been slashed by more than half but organisers are promising a "bigger, better and extra-spectacular" event.

The annual festival – now in its 24th year – was launched at Happy Valley yesterday. Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Ben Fihla and the Bay's events director, Seki Mandaba, were among those who attended.

More than 150000 are expected to attend the festival, being held at Hobie Beach from April 18 to 20. 0 Yoliswa Sobuwa
